Hi everyone!

 

My name is Catherine Nguyen and I am delighted to be elected to CISA National Executive Committee this year as a general member. My role on the committee would be assisting the committee, and specifically looking after the TAFE/VET sector.

 

I realised my passion to work for international students when I joined Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS) last year. AFIS was able to provide direct support to students, especially those students who face difficulties and are under-presented. However I understand that it is necessary to take a holistic approach when advocating for international students. That is the reason why I joined CISA. 

 

TAFE/VET sector is facing a difficult period due to economic downturn and budget cuts. In my term, I hope to be able to identify the issues that this sector face, raise the concerns with industry professionals and the government, and together with the CISA team find a solution to save the sector.
